The Government Information Centre informs that today, the Chancellery of the Prime Minister received a letter signed by individuals recognised as Polish Righteous Among the Nations by Yad Vashem – The World Holocaust Remembrance Center in Jerusalem. The letter calls on the Parliaments and Governments of Poland and Israel to return to the path of dialogue and reconciliation.

The letter was signed by the leaders of the Polish Association of the Righteous Among the Nations – a non-governmental organisation established in 1985 at the initiative of the people honoured by Israel with the Righteous Among the Nations medals and diplomas for saving Jews from extermination during World War II. The statutory objective of the Polish Association of the Righteous Among the Nations is to preserve the memory and raise awareness of the Nazi occupation in Poland, the Holocaust and the people who selflessly risked their lives to save fellow citizens of Jewish origin.
